About the Role

Be a central part of delivering invaluable information and resources to families across Victoria, helping them to be fully prepared and achieve great outcomes for their children as they move to the NDIS.

To help ACD deliver significantly more community education opportunities for Victorian families, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate our broad range of workshops, peer support groups, information sessions and expos across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Working within the ACD Educate team you will play a key role in ensuring that our increasing range of activities is well planned, coordinated, evaluated and stays on track. The role will work primarily on two key projects:

  • Ongoing coordination and support of 25 NDIS-focused peer support groups.
  • Delivery of NDIS Capacity building workshops and resources for families across Victoria.

Reporting directly to the Manager, ACD Educate you will facilitate successful workshop delivery, working with, coordinating and resourcing a range of employed and casual facilitators, support ongoing groups, and collect, analyse and report on outcomes from these activities. The role will also involve delivery of some workshops and information sessions, giving an opportunity to be face to face with families and providing them with the information they need to support their child.

ACD is Victoria’s leading member-based, not-for-profit organisation providing information, support and advocacy for families of children with a disability living in Victoria. We provide

  • free telephone support services to families about any disability issue.
  • knowledge building workshops and seminars for parents, carers, students and professionals
  • tailored information resources for families across a broad range of areas
  • systemic advocacy to advance the rights of children with a disability and their families

Located in Surrey Hills and close to public transport this role is for 3 days per week on a 12 month contract with potential for ongoing.
