Chief Executive Officer

Living Positive Victoria is looking for a CEO to lead us in our mission to advance the wellbeing and human rights of all Victorians living with HIV. We’re looking for an experienced, imaginative leader with brilliant communication and advocacy skills, great health sector networks, political and personal sensitivity, and a profound understanding of the Australian experience of HIV. You’ll be experienced in policy development and health promotion, have a track record in business planning in not-for-profit organisations, and understand the HIV sector and the needs of people living with HIV.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the successful delivery of the Living Positive Victoria Strategic Plan 2018 and Beyond across its five key areas of work:

• Providing influential leadership and advocacy
• Promoting understanding through the visibility of positive lives
• Supporting the wellbeing of people living with HIV
• Developing and furthering strategic partnerships and alliances with communities of shared interest
• Keeping the organisation sustainable and adaptable

You’ll support and work with a committed board of volunteer directors, lead the diverse and passionate staff team, and be able to work effectively with all stakeholders, from government to individual members living with HIV. A typical day might be writing a policy brief, making a high-level presentation, meeting the Minister, or engaging with some of the many people living with HIV for whom we advocate.
