About the Role
Deakin University seeks a new Director, Donor Relations who, reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, will strategically lead the University’s fundraising team within the Advancement portfolio. The Director will provide leadership to secure and expand the University’s base of philanthropic supporters, as well as stewardship of donors, inspiring them to form, maintain and strengthen their relationship with the University. In addition to providing strategy, advice, and support for gifts across the university, the Director will also be directly involved in soliciting a select group of prospective Major Gift donors.
Your demonstrable track record in major gift fundraising at a senior leadership level will have been gained in a large and complex organisation, ideally within the higher education sector. Your superior communication and presentation skills will be matched by your ability to lead and develop a cohesive, high-performing team. Crucial to success will be an understanding of, and empathy for, the values and mission of Deakin University as outlined in its Strategic Plan.
