This is a time of transformational change at The University of Queensland, having recently launched the first comprehensive philanthropic campaign in its history. The campaign will raise $500 million by the end of 2020 towards empowering student success, transforming teaching and learning, and driving discovery and impact.

The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) has a particular focus on teaching and learning activities that support active student engagement to balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Each of the Faculty’s units are internationally recognised and their teaching and research successes create a rich student learning experience emphasising professional competency and skills to provide the Faculty’s graduates with excellent career opportunities.

About the role

As Director of Advancement, you will lead the strategic development and execution of an ambitious and growing philanthropic program, providing leadership in the areas of philanthropy (including industry engagement to increase sponsorship and contract research), fundraising strategy, alumni and constituent engagement.

You will be a talented and passionate fundraising professional or have similar experience, with the expertise to cultivate major gift prospects and secure significant philanthropic gifts. Your proven track record in people management and engaging with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level will be matched by your ability to embed a high performance culture that can deliver against highly sustainable fundraising outcomes.

Senior fundraising professionals, or individuals with experience in high level relationship management, business development or sales roles resulting in a successful financial negotiation, are invited to apply for this pivotal position.
