We have a rich cultural heritage spanning nearly 50 years and a reputation for providing care to the frail for 6 Residential Aged Care Villages in NSW, for people living with dementia across culturally and linguistically diverse communities. 

About the role

Our Bexley Village is seeking an organised, creative and empathetic individual who will assist management, nurses and carers in the provision of care to residents. The object of this role is to ensure that a person centred approach is central to the vision of care to all residents from all cultural backgrounds that meet their individual social, emotional, psychological and physical needs.

This is done through designing, developing, implementing and evaluating leisure and recreation programs to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional and physical well being of residents and to ensure that a high standard of service and quality activities is maintained within the village.

As a successful applicant, you will possess highly developed interpersonal skills to coordinate the activities and organise events.

To be successful in this position you will have:

Certificate IV qualification in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent (desired);
Tertiary qualification in Cultural Studies and/or Italian Culture (desired); and
Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with sound communication and literacy skills;
2-3 years relevant experience in the Aged Care or Health Services Industry;
Demonstrable experience in coordinating and planning events and working with volunteers;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Italian culture;
Experience in dementia care.

The successful applicant will need to meet the requirements of a Criminal History Check as per the Aged Care Act 1997.
