About the role
Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at North East Primary Care Partnership (NEPCP) to ensure the continued successful implementation of the ReSPIN Gambling Awareness Speakers Bureau. The ReSPIN Project Coordinator implements our current funding agreement with the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, supports volunteer community educators, and seeks new opportunities for engagement. We are seeking a professional with a commitment to preventing gambling harm and a passion for quality program implementation and evaluation. Occasional evening/weekend work may be required. People with lived experience of gambling harm are encouraged to apply. This is a job share position. Banyule Community Health is the auspice organisation for the North East PCP and as such, employs our staff.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Coordinate and support volunteer community educators to present at community events
- Recruit people with lived experience of gambling harm to become volunteer community educators
- Promote ReSPIN and develop new opportunities for engagement
The key skills required for this role include:
- Tertiary qualifications in a human services or related field or commensurate work experience
- Previous experience working with the community on advocacy, anti-stigma or empowerment-based projects\
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a group of volunteers to achieve project goals
- Advanced interpersonal, communication, negotiation, conflict management and problem solving skills
- An understanding of the gambling environment and potential harms from gambling
