White Ribbon Australia is the not-for-profit company that provides a governance structure for the campaign and supports community fundraising and awareness activities. It is the pivotal, national male engagement social change movement in Australia, working to prevent men’s abuse of and violence against women. It is also acknowledged as the leading White Ribbon movement in the world.

About the role

• Lead and grow a remarkable Vision; ‘A nation that respects women, in which every woman lives in safety, free from all forms of men’s abuse’
• Promote awareness and drive strategies for the prevention of men’s violence against women

The Position

White Ribbon Australia (WRA) is seeking to appoint a visionary, forward-thinking Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide critical leadership in the achievement of the organisation’s strategic goals and elevate the WRA campaign to the next level of excellence.

The CEO will lead an energetic team (located in Sydney) to grow the WRA campaign throughout Australia and engage organisations and individuals, particularly men and boys, in the prevention of men’s violence against women. With a strong commitment to the values of WRA, the incoming CEO will create and sustain a valued public profile and positively influence and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Working closely with the Board and Executive Team, you will develop and implement a new Strategic Plan in 2019. Your highly developed people management skills will be essential in mentoring, motivating and nurturing a small and dynamic team of highly skilled professional staff and volunteers. You will have excellent business acumen coupled with the ability to identify opportunities for growth. You will exhibit superior interpersonal, advocacy and negotiation skills and be capable of enhancing a positive organisational culture. You will have a strong alignment with WRA’s mission and be able to personify all that the organisation stands for in the public arena.
