About the organisation

Organisation Name : Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare

The Centre is a not-for-profit peak body for over 100 child and family service organisations in Victoria.

Working for vulnerable children, young people and families, the Centre provides sector training, facilitates and publishes research, advocates through campaigns and media relations and sustains ongoing programs focusing on key areas of the State care system.

These include the voice of children and young people and specific programs for foster care, kinship care and residential care. We also work and advocate through campaigns & media relations for better transitions for young people leaving State care.

About the role

The Centre has been working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to implement key reforms, including in out-of-home care, building workforce capability and implementing evidence-informed practice.

The DHHS Residential Care Learning and Development Strategy (RCLDS) initiative is being implemented and supported by the Centre.

This role is the key position in the RCLDS initiative and will involve regular reporting to DHHS.

The Project Officer, under the supervision of the Executive Manager – Training and Business Development, and in regular consultation with the RCLDS Reference Group, coordinates the delivery of training and development activities designed to meet the training needs and to support community service organisations delivering residential care.
