The Role & Your Responsibilities

In consultation with the Leader Information Services, the Senior Advisor Research will provide specialised, high quality analytical prospect research and analysis using a variety of sources and strategies, to provide accurate, timely, and strategic information to the development staff in relation to prospective donors. The Senior Advisor Research will create prospect profiles and reports on potential donors through the use of electronic resources and printed reference materials. Provide extensive analysis and data in reports, including evaluation of results and recommendation for cultivation strategies. Liaise and co-create with Advancement Office to assess information needs and effectiveness of rese arch. A key component of the role will be to proactively initiate strategies to identify prospects.

Skills & Experience Required

You will initiate and develop strategies to identify and investigate new prospects for fundraising from corporations, foundations and individuals using print sources, electronic media, news alerts, philanthropic databases and other sources.

You will also be responsible for preparing confidential briefings and profiles to identify and develop relationships with key university stakeholders. Important to your success in this role will be your significant demonstrated experience in conducting prospect research, with demonstrated strength in assessing wealth, giving capacity and affinity. Your ability to interpret data will see you review publications to uncover current information about higher education, philanthropy and trends in various constituency fields and disseminate this information to appropri ate stakeholders. Excellent writing skills and ability to produce concise research and reporting documents with attention to detail, accuracy, and appropriate thoroughness will also be critical in this role.
