The Opportunity

Looking for a leader to lead a great team for the Stronger Families and Restorations program

The Aboriginal Stronger Families and Aboriginal Family Restorations programs are part of the Intensive Services programs funded by DHHS, and have been operating in a number of locations across Victoria. These programs provide intensive parenting and family support for vulnerable parents and their children. The Aboriginal Family Restorations program works with family for 12 – 16 weeks and the Stronger Families program work with families for a period of 12 months.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate

  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a demonstrated understanding and awareness of the specific issues facing Aboriginal children,
    young people and families.
  • A sophisticated understanding of the child and family welfare legislative and policy context, theories of attachment, trauma and child development as well as relevant risk assessment frameworks, service responses and interventions in working with vulnerable families.
