Philanthropy at the University of Sydney is more than securing donations, it is about working as one community to solve real-world challenges, making lives better now and for the future. We commenced our first comprehensive fundraising campaign, INSPIRED – the campaign to support the University of Sydney in 2008 with the aim of securing an extraordinary level of support for the University. We have now raised more than $855 million toward our $ 1 billion goal, and occupy a leadership position in higher education philanthropy, with Australia’s largest philanthropy campaign. Over 60% of campaign funds raised have been directed towards research and scholarship within the Faculty of Medicine and Health, including the recent $33.7m gift, the largest gift ever made to research at the University of Sydney.

Following the recent establishment of a single, integrated Faculty of Medicine and Health, combining the Schools of Dentistry, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, and Pharmacy, the University is seeking an experienced philanthropy professional to lead this key portfolio.

As Director of Development (Faculty of Medicine and Health) you will have proven experience leading major gift activity and securing gifts over $1 million. With direct access to the Dean, you will create and implement robust and tactical strategies, leading a team who will drive the philanthropic activities for the Faculty.
