We are currently seeking an Estate Management Coordinator to join our Supporter Relations team at RSPCA Victoria Burwood for a period of 6 months. Reporting to the Supporter Relations Manager, you will manage the income from the administration of Estates to RSPCA Victoria. Income from estates represent a major component of our income and is critical to the success of our work towards ending cruelty to all animals.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role is responsible for estate processes from first notification to final distribution and requires a level of comfort working with sometimes complex legal and financial documents.
The Estate Management Coordinator is responsible for:
- Managing and monitoring bequests and estates that are bequeathed to RSPCA Victoria;
- Performing administrative duties associated with estate management;
- Liaising with solicitors, executives and accountants in relation to estate issues to ensure timely estate distribution; and
- Working with our Legal and Compliance team to manage the administration and resolution of contested estates.
Key Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will possess:
- Strong relationship management skills, with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests and timelines;
- Strong administration and computer skills;
- Experience working with complex legal and financial documents;
- Strong attention to detail; and
- Prior exposure to fundraising/customer databases will be highly desirable.
This role would also suit a paralegal or administration executive looking to move into the not for profit sector.
