Aftercare is undergoing wide-ranging change brought about in particular by sector reforms including the NDIS and is looking to recruit a General Manager, Service Delivery. As part of Aftercare’s dynamic executive leadership team in this role you will:

  • Lead community outreach and residential mental health services including over 250 staff and $35m pa in budgets.
  • Lead and manage a team of committed and passionate Regional Managers.
  • Help to identify and capitalise on traditional and new/innovative funding opportunities (working with service managers and business development team members).
  • Demonstrate sector leadership in the provision of outstanding mental health services and outcomes.

The Right Fit…

This role would suit someone with a demonstrated mental health service leadership and outstanding management skills. The successful candidate will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Management, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role/s providing operational leadership in a multi-site human services environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to recovery oriented practice in mental health service delivery. Experience in delivering community-based mental health services with a recovery focus is essential.
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship skills (internal and external) and interpersonal skills; highly effective people-management and change management skills.
  • Strong financial and business management skills – a capability to manage large budgets and support service managers doing the same; ability to lead and manage in market-based funding environments (NDIS or similar).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience in winning funding including proposal or tender writing.
  • Passion, an innovative spirit and a can-do approach.
