About the organisation
Belconnen Community Services (BCS) provides a wide range of services that are accessible to everyone in both Belconnen and the wider ACT community. These include childrens programs, mental health programs, disability programs, community transport, housing support and community care. BCS’ overarching purpose is to offer flexible services that encourage and support people to participate in the community and enhance their well-being. BCS, as with all community services across Australia, is currently facing the enormous challenge of continuing to operate effectively in a rapidly changing community service delivery environment including managing the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the increasing involvement of for-profit organisations.
About the role
BCS are seeking an accountant and a professional with community sector experience and/or business skills to join our Board. You will ideally have previous Board experience, empathy for the work that the community support sector undertakes and experience in a relevant area.
Our Board and our Management team enjoy a very productive working relationship. We are passionate and focused on assuring BCS’ future with ideas being freely shared, discussed and acted on.
