About the organisation

Organisation Name : Victorian AIDS Council

The Victorian AIDS Council (VAC) was formed in 1983 as a central part of the Victorian community’s response to HIV. VAC aims to improve the health and social and emotional well-being of Victorian lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities, with a particular emphasis on bringing the HIV epidemic to an end.

About the role

Are you passionate about using your clinical and leadership skills to make a difference in lives of the LGBTI community and those living with or at risk of HIV?

VAC is seeking a skilled Clinical Leader and Manager for our Counselling, Family Violence and AoD Services.

With a supportive leadership team you will lead quality and person centred services across general counselling, family violence and alcohol and drug treatment and capacity building. This role supervises four team leaders and is responsible for approximately 25 staff plus volunteers.

The successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of the complex barriers that our clients face in accessing quality health care and a capacity to help address these barriers through growing responsive service models.

In addition to strong organisational and people skills a background in counselling within a general, family violence or AoD setting will be a strong advantage.

All applicants must provide a written response to the Key Selection Criteria to be considered for the position. For a detailed Position Description, including Key Selection Criteria, click on the attachment below or visit vac.org.au/about/working-at-vac.

For further information, contact Services Director, Kent Burgess on 0417 417 346.

Members of the LGBTI community and those living with HIV are encouraged to apply.
