About the role:
In this exciting, newly created role, as the Philanthropy Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in continuing growth of our dynamic and dedicated philanthropy team. The position will work closely with the Philanthropy Manager to assist in the engagement of philanthropic trusts and foundations, including compiling funding submissions and progress/acquittal reports to external contacts, as well as gathering and maintaining information about internal programs and funding needs. Additionally, the role will be instrumental in assisting with a new Major Gift program.
Key responsibilities:
• Maintain a database of current philanthropic grants; their reporting deadlines and other communications / media / publicity responsibilities
• Work with the Finance team and relevant program managers to ensure philanthropic grant expenditure is timely and appropriate
• Maintain electronic records for all communications with external philanthropic stakeholders (phone calls, emails, letters, meetings, submissions, reports, etc.)
About you
You will have a minimum of two years’ administrative experience in not-for-profit sector management, development, marketing, public relations or similar work, coupled with proficient computer skills including advanced user level of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. With demonstrated abilities in communicating clearly, succinctly and sensitively, you will also have a knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
Experience with a fundraising data base is preferred.
