Who we are
The Equity Foundation is the professional development arm of MEAA Equity, the union for Australian and New Zealand performers. MEAA Equity is more than 75 years old and has over 6,000 members.
As Australia’s leading provider of events tailored to the unique needs of performers, the Equity Foundations hosts more than 100 masterclasses, workshops, in conversations and film screenings annually. The Equity Foundation also facilitates an annual awards program to honour the work of Equity members.
The Foundation relies solely on the support from grants, corporate sponsorships, bequests and individual contributions to maintain our programs and create new ones.
Our mission is to assist, educate and inspire performers.
About the role
The Storyville Project
Storyville harnesses the talent of performers to encourage children to read. The program specifically targets schools with socio-economic disadvantage and/or schools where for a majority of students, English is a second language. These are often indicators that children are not being read to at home. Storyville connects schools with participating performers. All of our volunteers undergo training before being allocated to participating schools and are equipped with relevant working with children documents. Our volunteers commit to the program, enabling them to establish a real bond with students.
The Equity Foundation is wishing to appoint a Program Manager for Storyville.
