Communication Rights works in partnership representing a range of people on a continuum from severe speech and communication difficulties, such as Autism, acquired brain injury, illness – for example Motor Neurone Disease, stroke, mental health, physical and sensory impairment or intellectual disability, through to children whose capacity to communicate impacts on correctly and consistently sending their message (for example through Apraxia). The criterion for access is if the person’s ability to communicate his/her message is impacting on their ability to access their rights.
About the role
Communication Rights Australia is seeking to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer. The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills and experience – high-level understanding of the disability sector and the role of advocacy and information. Ability to use knowledge of legislation and policies of the organisation to identify risk, opportunities, and issues for the future and to lead the organisation in achieving its goals and objectives. Professional skills, knowledge, and proficiency in business development gained through formal qualifications or wide and deep experience. Capacity to lead and support others, a high-level competence in staff management and coordination and the capacity to provide leadership and drive in multiple project areas.
