About the role

Mercy Place Ballarat is opening in September. We are seeking a Clubs and Events Manager to enrich the lives of residents by providing them with opportunities to engage in activities which support a sense of wellbeing, belonging and connectedness, outside of the aged care home.

Mercy Place Ballarat offers small household living – a select number of residents living together in each of our homes – designed and built to feel just like home. Home cooked meals, the privacy of real home spaces, personal laundry, but with the security and peace-of-mind of help on hand when residents need it.
Homes are connected to a village square with shops, where residents can walk safely, share coffee or enjoy time out with family and friends. Various multi-purposes spaces including a mens’ shed, wellness centre, and a pub are available at the home.

Reporting to the General Manager, Ballarat, the Clubs and Events Manager will create a program of events based on resident preferences, opportunities offered in the local area, and feedback concerning participation and satisfaction. You will be the main point of contact for volunteers, providing meaningful and regular volunteering opportunities utilising the services of the community to further the purpose and objectives of Mercy Place Ballarat and its residents.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in establishing links with the community, organising clubs and events and managing general communal or retail space. You will partner closely with others to develop meaningful partnerships to deliver on your purpose. You will be a positive, proactive and highly organised individual with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will have a solid understanding of financial and people management in order to maximise resources and support overall strategic goals. You will be values driven and strive for excellence.
