About the Role
We are seeking a talented Fundraising & Communications Lead to bring a can-do attitude, drive and determination to get things done with limited resources. You will enjoy flexible working arrangements, whilst prioritising efficiency and achieving outcomes. You will be able to turn your hand to many different aspects of communications and fundraising – and use your initiative to seek additional support in areas we need to develop. You will be able to apply your prior experience raising funds from multiple sources, including public donations, major donors and philanthropists and grants, to the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives. You will also apply your advanced written communications skills and expertise in managing online communities and building audiences and profile through digital media platforms and channels.
You will enjoy working with a collaborative and supportive team and Board to help you realise your fundraising and communications vision for the organisation.
About the Organisation
Established in 2014, Birth for Humankind is a not-for-profit charity organisation that provides support and education for women experiencing financial and social hardship through their pregnancy and birth.
With a dedicated core team of seven part-time employees, 40 volunteer doulas, a committed and ‘hands-on’ board, as well as a growing community of people passionate about promoting better birth outcomes and supporting women in need.
Our vision is that every mother has the care and support needed to make empowered choices and to have the best birth and early parenting experience possible for herself, her baby and family. Our mission is to foster health families and communities by providing mother centred support, education and holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth and after the baby comes – especially for those who are most vulnerable to social isolation or lack of support.
We do this through offering free one-to-one doula support, education programs and information, networking and referrals to other support services.
Every member of our core team is dedicated, passionate, creative, and visionary. Our team culture is based on respect, collaboration, support and celebration.
We welcome initiative, drive and independence – whilst working in a collaborative team approach. For more info about us you can visit our website at: www.birthforhumankind.org
