About the role

• Full-time, permanent role based in Sydney

Your Role

As part of the Fundraising Group, your role will involve:
• Contributing to the development and implementation of a comprehensive Bequest strategy
• Preparing strategic engagement plans and contact management database in profiling, acquisition, cultivation and solicitation of bequest prospects and the stewardship of confirmed bequests to Caritas Australia
• Coordinating our stewardship recognition program, thanking Supporters/Donors for their gifts and retaining donor engagement once a bequest is made
• Acting as the first point of contact for bequest enquiries, conducting personal visits, calls, letters and other activities such as producing materials and developing direct mail campaigns, encouraging donors to become bequesters

Your Capabilities

You will thrive as a Philanthropy Bequests Specialist if you:
• Have substantial experience in a Fundraising or Marketing role including bequest processes, legal applications and taxation legislation
• Demonstrate a strong track record in implementing a Bequest program with experience in working effectively with bequesters, potential bequesters, executors, donors, senior staff and volunteers, contested estates
• Can communicate with diplomacy and sensitivity at a high level in both written and oral form, with people of all ages, financial and social backgrounds and in a variety of settings
• Can handle confidential information with respect
• Are proficient with Donor/customer databases (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office with demonstrated attention to detail applicable to documentation, information recording and planning
