About the role
Part time (0.6 EFT: 22.5 hours per week)
Level 4.1 – 4.5 ($83,733–$96,152)
The Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) is seeking a Policy Advisor to drive policy, engagement and advocacy on behalf of VCOSS members, initially in health and justice policy.
The Policy Advisor will join the VCOSS policy team, reporting to the Policy Manager. The position will identify policy goals and emerging issues, provide high quality public and social policy reports and advice, and work collaboratively with VCOSS staff and member organisations to identify opportunities to strengthen policy development, advocacy, service delivery, capability and partnership opportunities.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a policy or advocacy position, high level written and analytical skills, and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders. The position requires relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent.
This position is a part time, fixed term position. Secondments from another organisation will be considered. Salary and conditions of employment are governed by the Victorian Council of Social Service Enterprise Agreement 2017 and VCOSS policies and procedures.
