About the organisation
Bayley House is a well-known Bayside not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of services for adults with an intellectual disability, including residential services and day centre programs.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our residential of house based in Cheltenham which provides a range of high quality residential services for ten residents.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management the residents’ house, assisting them to be more independent and participate in high quality community and recreational activities. You will model Active Support principles in your approach and lead a small team of staff to exhibit best practice.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- The provision of a range of client services and case management activities to ensure the needs of the clients are met and client records are maintained.
- Staff management – performance management, recruitment, team development and rostering
- Administration and quality management – including incident reporting
- Co-ordination and provision of after hours on-call service and support
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced and passionate disability services all-rounder.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience and commitment to working with people who have a disability using a person-centred, Active Support principles
- Prior management and leadership experience in a residential house including the ability to coach and mentor staff
- Knowledge of the Disability Act and Regulations
- Excellent time management, communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- A dynamic and flexible approach to tasks with a positive can-do attitude
- Adept at general problem solving and mitigating risk within OHS guidelines
- Certificate IV in Disability Services or equivalent qualification in human services
- Current First Aid Certificate, Driver’s Licence, and Police Check, or willingness to obtain
This supervisory role is designed to keep your disability service skills in practice whilst building on your management capabilities with an active developing a high-performance team.
