About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Donor Engagement Manager to join our Philanthropy Department on a full-time, permanent basis. This position will be responsible for developing, cultivating and stewarding relationships with Opera Australia’s supporters in order to increase donor retention and contribution income. Working closely with the Executive Director, Philanthropy, the Donor Engagement Manager will create a systematic plan to build our donor base, engaging with artists, other staff members and members of the board to nurture a culture of philanthropy at Opera Australia.

Our ideal candidate will be a champion of the Tessitura database, with demonstrated experience in donor management and administration of either philanthropy campaigns, major gifts, or other philanthropy programs including acquisition and retention of individuals and companies. We are also seeking someone who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the demonstrated ability to manage a variety of stakeholder relationships including with donors, committee members, board members, members of senior management, suppliers and community representatives.
