The Marketing & Events Specialist contributes to the effective delivery of the Bright Spots Schools Connection (The Connection). The Connection provides support to develop projects and actions that respond to the issues of education disadvantage in Australia’s most challenged school communities. This role works across The Connection Team, which operates within SVA’s Venture Philanthropy business unit and SVA’s Marketing team. The Marketing team manages SVA’s brand and thought leader positioning, employing the full mix of marketing channels including digital, events, traditional and social media, and collateral.

The position
SVA has an exciting opportunity to drive strategic marketing activity and the smooth execution of key events for The Connection. The position applies generalist marketing and communications expertise to inform The Connection’s marketing activity and materials that engage head and heart – in support of initiatives that respond to issues of education disadvantage in Australia’s most challenged school communities. Key elements of the position include designing and crafting marketing activity to engage key stakeholders to ensure sharing of The Connection initiative’s learnings and achievements. It also includes responsibility for ensuring The Connection brand and messaging are consistent and effective.

Who you are
If you are driven by excellence, have a strong eye for detail and are willing to be ‘hands on’ in a dynamic marketing and events environment, this is the role for you. You will come to the position with proven experience in marketing and communications, having applied creativity and innovation to all stages of the marketing process. The ideal candidate will be skilled in marketing and communications methodologies with practical application experience, including measuring and reporting results of marketing activity and refining for continuous improvement. A collaborative approach to building supportive internal relationships and working with diverse external stakeholders will you see you successful in this role. Experience in the not for profit sector or government relevant to education practice is desirable.

This unique role provides exposure to an interesting and rewarding scope of work addressing education disadvantage in Australia. You will collaborate with a highly committed team with a breadth of expertise in marketing and communications. The focus of this role will see you forging close relationships with highly collaborative colleagues and stakeholders.
