About the Role
– Part time (0.6 FTE) 12 month fixed term contract (with possibility of a further 12 month extension)
– Manage a portfolio of research, policy and advocacy engagements that progress women’s rights and gender equality
– Support IWDA’s role in providing feminist framing and analysis
AN OPPORTUNITY YOU WILL LOVE
The Research, Policy & Advocacy Advisor develops and manages a portfolio of research, policy and advocacy engagements that progress women’s rights and gender equality and IWDA’s role in providing feminist framing and analysis. This position will also contribute to organisational monitoring, evaluation and learning. The Research, Policy & Advocacy Advisor will extend the organisation’s influence and identity through engagement and publications that raise the profile of IWDA’s work and learning with national and international partners and advance systemic change.
WHY YOU WILL EXCEL
You have a relevant post-graduate qualification in International Development, Gender Studies or related field
You have considerable experience in advocacy campaign planning, and proven ability to effectively advocate priorities and positions to a variety of stakeholders
You have considerable experience analysing and promoting policy and practice that advances women’s rights and gender and development thinking
You have demonstrated research experience including: coordinating research projects or partnerships; collecting and analysing data; preparing and editing research for publications to communicate research including policy and practice implications
You have the ability to write funding submissions, negotiate and manage research contracts, including with donors, institutions and individuals
