About the role

Filtered Media is a brand storytelling agency pioneering the integration of PR, social media,  content marketing and production. We’re looking for a Director + Storyteller to lead and help grow our new Social Enterprise practice.

The practice draws on Filtered Media’s ten years’ experience representing Australia’s most respected corporate and consumer brands to now serve government sector, not-for-profit, social purpose and corporate social responsibility (CSR) clients.

The Director + Storyteller, Social Enterprise at Filtered Media role requires a background running integrated social purpose communications campaigns featuring PR, social media, video and content elements at a senior management level in Australia or abroad.

You have experience building rapport and trust with senior executives and change-makers, creating communications strategy and workable plans, and directing projects and teams to deliver agreed outcomes on-time and to budget.  You’re a dreamer, and a do-er.

Based in Sydney, and reporting to the Managing Director, the role will suit a confident communicator with impeccable client management ability, relentless positivity, and a comfort and proven systems for managing the multi-tasking reality of agency life.

This role will fully utilise your strong skills in strategy, client relationship management, and business development. Your leadership capability will come to the fore as you create and grow a high-achieving, passionate team dedicated to telling social purpose client stories, brilliantly.

Key responsibilities in this role include:-

Campaign strategy: Develop paid and organic social media strategy across multiple channels; advise clients and internal staff on optimisation of content for engagement and conversions; develop and pitch consumer PR campaigns that exceed client expectations.

Client management: provide proactive and highly nuanced client liaison, key insights and recommendations, expectation management and account growth.

Quality assurance: oversee project delivery by setting and monitoring high performance benchmarks, delegating and assigning tasks, maintaining vigilant attention to detail, tracking progress and efficiency.

Internal engagement: establish credibility as part of the senior leadership team, collaborate across disciplines, review and coach team members, spark interesting conversations.  

Business development: develop accurate client budgets, contribute to accurate quote development, grow client accounts, develop new business relationships, pitch and present proposals, and ultimately secure new business.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Media / Communications / Arts.
  • Minimum five years’ PR experience, specialising in the not-for-profit and/or corporate social responsibility sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing integrated social purpose campaigns that include PR, social media, video and/or written content.
  • References from the social purpose or CSR sector that speak to your character, performance and experience.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Citable past or present expressions of Filtered Media’s “EPIC” values of Excellence, Positivity, Integrity and Curiosity.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple projects and deadlines.
