About the organisation

Organisation Name : Association for Children with a Disability

ACD is Victoria’s leading member-based, not-for-profit organisation providing information, support and advocacy for families of children with a disability living in Victoria. We provide

  • free telephone support services to families about any disability issue.
  • knowledge building workshops and seminars for parents, carers, students and professionals
  • tailored information resources for families across a broad range of areas
  • systemic advocacy to advance the rights of children with a disability and their families

About the role

To help ACD grow and expand its portfolio of highly regarded community education opportunities for Victorian families, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual with strong business development and program management skills. This individual will take our existing range of workshops, peer support groups, information sessions and expos across Melbourne and regional Victoria and build sustainability and growth, including identifying new business opportunities and program efficiencies.

Leading a small team of staff, including casual facilitators, and working alongside 4 other program managers you will contribute to ACD’s mission through securing new funding opportunities, developing new resources and supporting the team and their deliverables. Key to this will be the transition of existing resources into NDIS funded activities.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior leadership role with an opportunity to drive the future of ACD’s Education activities and contribute to organisational and cultural change to ensure that ACD continues to provide the information, education and advocacy for families that has built its strong reputation upon.

As the strength of the Association comes from the passion and energy of parents of children with a disability, we strongly encourage applications from those with a personal or family experience of disability.

Located in Surrey Hills and close to public transport this role is for 4 days per week on a 12 month contract with potential for ongoing.
