Here at the Children’s Protection Society we have an opportunity for you to make an enormous impact on the lives of children and families participating in the Caring Dads program. You will be responsible for the case coordination of the safety and well-being needs of women and children and continual monitoring of all family members safety.
You will work closely with the Caring Dads Clinical Group Facilitators to collaborate with relevant services the clients may be engaged with, and participate in supervision, program evaluation and reporting as required.
The Program
The Caring Dads program is jointly provided by CPS and UnitingCare ReGen in collaboration with the University of Toronto and University of Melbourne. Caring Dads is an early intervention program developed in Canada by the University of Toronto and Changing Ways, for fathers who have physically abused, emotionally abused or neglected their children, or exposed their children to domestic violence or who are deemed to be at high-risk for these behaviours.
To succeed in this role you will need to have relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Casework Practice or a related field. A broad knowledge of both specialist and mainstream services particularly the Family Violence system and Child Protection system will be a huge advantage. It will also be highly regarded if you can demonstrate proven experience in undertaking risk assessments and understanding of working with complex family dynamics.
