The Fundraising and Communications Division (FCD) is responsible for ensuring Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from the Victorian public.

The Brand and Communications Unit is responsible for managing and optimising the reputation and public profile of Cancer Council Victoria, and our programs, through strategic and sustained use of campaigns, media engagement and PR, corporate events, partnerships and communications.

About the role

  • Create engaging stories about Cancer Council’s important work
  • Engage with new and existing supporters though print and digital content
  • Full time fixed term until 2 February 2019 – St Kilda Road, Melbourne

About your opportunity

We are seeking an innovative Fundraising Content Coordinator to join the Brand and Communications unit. Reporting to the Fundraising Communications Manager, you will:

  • Write and produce engaging communications that inspire support for Cancer Council through a large range of promotional material such as letters, surveys, newsletters, emails, video and web and social content and more
  • Work in partnership with designers, web developers and the wider brand and communications team to deliver engaging content that enhances Cancer Council’s brand.
  • Liaise with all areas of the business to uncover the most up-to-date and engaging stories to ensure that supporters are connected with the work we do
  • Interview supporters and people affected by cancer to show the impact of Cancer Council’s work.
  • Take ownership of ensuring that all communications are of a high standard, on brand and reflects the importance of the work we do

Establish yourself as a resourceful wordsmith that can connect with the diverse Victorian public through creatively crafted content.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Degree qualifications in communications, marketing or a related discipline OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
  • Demonstrated experience in content creation including long and short copy, publications, emails, web and social media content
  • A creative wordsmith, dedicated to producing high quality content and a commitment to uncovering the most engaging material to connect with supporters
  • Exceptional ability to develop relationships, build rapport and listen empathetically

What we can offer you

This full-time fixed term position until 2 February 2019 provides a salary within range $58,002 – $64,192 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card. We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities and a location close to public transport.
