Summary of program and its objectives:

Local Area Coordination (LAC) is a pivotal function in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). LAC provides planning and coordination to support people with disability in exercising choice and control over the services they use. LAC promotes community inclusion and supports the development of mainstream services that are accessible to people with disability. The Data Team supports all LAC staff by developing and maintaining datasets and reports to help prioritize, track and report on this work.

The data team is currently located in Coburg with a possible move to Footscray or another western location TBD. This role must be located with the data team, with some flexibility to work from another office occasionally.

Main responsibilities of the role:

The Database and Reporting Officer is responsible for supporting the data analysis and reporting functions within the Local Area Coordination (LAC) and the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) programs. This includes maintaining key databases, managing the flow of information between datasets, preparing reports that can be used to monitor performance, report against contractual KPIs and provide database support to staff.

To meet the selection criteria, candidates will require:

Essential

  • relevant tertiary qualifications in health information management, business information systems or similar discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • well-developed computing skills including working with spreadsheets, databases, SQL and a demonstrated ability to learn new systems
  • demonstrated experience working in the community or not for profit sectors
  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels both internally, externally and with people from diverse backgrounds
  • ability to identify and resolve problems and make appropriate recommendations
  • well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team to achieve outcomes
  • understanding of and empathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood.

Desirable

  • lived experience or awareness of the impact of existing or acquired disability upon individuals, carers and community
  • demonstrated experience and skills in customized business support tools (e.g. Office 365, SharePoint Custom Lists), query languages (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL, R, Python) and/or reporting solutions (e.g. Crystal Reports, Tableau).

This is a 0.8 FTE to 1.0 FTE position working 30.4 to 38 hours per week.

Salary will be in the range of $63,475.36 to $70,263.44 per annum (pro rata if part time), based on skills and experience plus superannuation. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available to increase take home pay.
