Head of Sticking Together Project

SYC is a not-for-profit organisation centred on employment, training and youth services. With a core purpose to positively affect the lives of people in need, last year SYC helped more than 61,000 people in the areas of Learning, Wellbeing, Home and Working.

The Sticking Together Project is an SYC initiative providing coaching for young Australians and their employers to assist with the development of employability skills required to help young people stick to sustained employment. This innovation project has completed trials in South Australia and Victoria and is now operating in Queensland and Victoria. The next stage is to scale the project in New South Wales through an outcomes-based service contract with government. The project is positioned to capitalise on the growing interest in Australia from private investors to fund human services through social impact investment.

The Sticking Together Project requires a strategic and visionary leader to manage the delivery and development of the project. With a growth mindset you will also demonstrate the flexibility and focus to manage new program development while simultaneously ensuring high quality service performance.  With exceptional project management skills, you will be responsible for the operations, compliance, performance evaluation and teams across four states. Working collaboratively across the SYC leadership, you will seek out and build partnerships with service providers, government, philanthropic and other funding partners.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a senior manager in a medium to large organisation, ideally in the human services sector. With exceptional leadership skills you will demonstrate the ability to develop others by creating an empowering and respectful team environment. Outstanding relationship management skills are essential; you will have created, maintained and built positive working relationships across a complex network of stakeholders, partners, governments and colleagues. Strategic and commercially focused you will have proven experience of managing client service delivery projects to generate project outcomes whilst managing resources and profitability.
