 This role can be based in either Brisbane or Sydney.

As our Retention and New Programs Manager you will take primary responsibility for developing and managing retention journeys for individual supporters with a focus on lifetime value. You will focus on the needs of supporters, measuring commitment and creating stewardship programs to increase engagement, advocacy and support.  This role will also scope and develop new individual supporter programs (e.g. art union, online merchandise, e-cards etc.)

You’ll have freedom to deliver quality experiences using your judgement and a network of expertise, together with an enabling manager and talented colleagues to support you to give your best.

Snapshot of key responsibilities

  • Collaborate in developing and implementing the organisational strategy to retain individual supporters
  • Map retention journeys to ensure consistency and a focus on retention for lifetime value
  • Develop and implement a rolling supporter retention phone program
  • Develop and implement all retention journeys and communications across multiple platforms engaging relevant stakeholders
  • In collaboration, develop and manage a Regular Giving retention program
  • Lead Regular Giving retention protection activities including the declined gift journey, downgrades and objection handling
  • Monitor and report on all individual supporter retention
  • Drive the development and implementation of supporter commitment scoring, measuring and reporting
  • Be the lead user of marketing automation within the Individual Supporters and Major Supporters group
  • Develop and implement a testing matrix and strategy
  • Drive the scope, development and implementation of new giving programs (e.g. art union/raffles, e-cards etc)

Selection Criteria

  • Essential Requirements
  • A relevant communications/marketing/journalism degree
  • Demonstrated experience in individual fundraising strategy development and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing individual giving programs
  • Experience in mapping and measuring retention journeys
  • Experience in understanding segmentation, testing and analysis
  • Experience in budget development
  • Experience in use of marketing automation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commitment scoring and supporter advocacy/commitment theories
  • Demonstrated  knowledge of FIA Code of Conduct/Standards of Fundraising
  • At least three years’ experience in a fundraising role

Highly desirable

  • Knowledge of the charity health environment
  • Understanding of digital retention techniques
