About this opportunity
Consumer Directed Services (CDS) refers to services which are led and funded by individual consumers. This includes supports such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Transport Accident Commission (TAC), aged care service system and private brokerage arrangements. These services provide support, care and access to services and technology for Australians with disabilities as well as their families and carers.
As the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) Coordinator, you will oversee the day to day high performance and ongoing development of Wellways’ consumer directed service offer within Eastern and North Western Melbourne. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for the recruitment, induction, development and support of the whole CDS team, including Support Workers, Support Coordinators and Customer Service Officers. To achieve your objectives, you will work closely and collaboratively with your regional colleagues and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
What do you need?
- Experience and expertise in the delivery of quality of high quality consumer directed services, including at least one of the NDIS, TAC, VWA or Aged Care (or equivalent)
- Expertise across a diversity of disability types, including mental health issues
- Experience in co-ordinating, supervising and leading a high performing team
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
- Strong business development expertise
- A current and valid Driver’s Licence, with ability to undertake regular travel
- Satisfactory Police Records Check and Working with Children Check, prior to commencement
