About the organisation

Organisation Name : Sir David Martin Foundation

Sir David Martin Foundation is a charity dedicated to helping young people in crisis. They are proudly a part of the Mission Australia (MA) group and fund Mission Australia programs to support young people suffering from problems such as substance addiction, homelessness, mental illness, disengagement from society, abuse, unemployment and family breakdown. These programs, in particular the award-winning residential rehabilitation facility, Triple Care Farm, provide treatment and support for these issues, as well as assist young people in returning to education and training to find pathways to employment and a healthy, productive life.

About the role

  • Leverage your strong and strategic fundraising ability
  • Provide authentic leadership to inspire & empower a passionate team
  • Engage with a broad range of stakeholders

Sir David Martin Foundation is run by a small team of committed staff and volunteers and they are seeking a General Manager to lead the organisation into its next chapter. Working closely with the Board of Governors of the Foundation and reporting to the CFO of Mission Australia you will work closely with MA to leverage opportunities for the betterment of young Australians.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an inspiring leader who has a solid track record of strategic, successful fundraising. In this role you will develop and implement strategic and operational plans, lead and manage a team and understand the importance of evaluating programs to deliver impact. You will understand good governance and contribute to it and you will have demonstrated experience in working positively with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders including the board, senior executives within Mission Australia, the high net worth community, corporates, existing donors, partners and government.

As the leader of a small, but important organisation you will understand the balance required between operations and fundraising and you will be as capable of setting the organisation’s overarching strategy as you are attending to operational details. Importantly, you will be committed to the work and representing the Sir David Martin Foundation favourably. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an organisation that is delivering greater social impact by creating an environment where, in Sir David Martin’s words, “young people can grow up in safety, with hope and opportunity.”

You will need a working with children check, a national police check and a current drivers licence. For a confidential discussion or for more information please call us on 0468 625 252.

To apply, you MUST submit a CV and covering letter outlining why you are interested in representing Sir David Martin Foundation and how your skills and experience align to this opportunity.
