The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) is the medical college responsible for the training and professional development of ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced senior education specialist to join our leadership team, reporting into the CEO, with responsibility for refining our education strategy, leading our vocational training program and owning course development. This role is instrumental in shaping the future of ophthalmic training and service delivery in Australia and New Zealand, helping to educate the future generations of medical eye doctors.
To be successful in this role, you will bring deep knowledge of adult education methods, including the latest developments in online learning and assessment, monitoring and evaluation of programs. The role leads a team of experienced professionals and we seek someone who enjoys managing people and developing vision and strategy, while also having the ability to get involved and take accountability for delivering on key projects. You must have worked in complex environments with multiple stakeholders including regulatory agencies and ideally have experience in managing a large volunteer workforce.
Your strong communication skills will enable you to build relationships easily, give you the ability to test the thinking of medical professionals and advocate on behalf of the profession. You will have demonstrated experience in bringing about positive outcomes from managing large projects in an educational environment. Regular travel (Aus, NZ and occasional other overseas destinations) will be required in this role.
