Community Lawyer

We are seeking a lawyer to join our team working in the Central Goldfields town of Maryborough. While the position will be primarily be based in Maryborough, regular days will also be spent in the LCCLC office in Bendigo. The position will increase access to justice by providing an integrated legal-health service to clients with complex needs at Maryborough Magistrates Court, while also enabling early intervention support for other priority clients by working with partner organisations in the region.

This is a generalist position and the incumbent will be working in a variety of practice areas relevant to disadvantaged communities. Practice areas will predominately be in the areas of family violence, child protection, family law, low level criminal law and general civil law practice. Graduate and junior lawyers are encouraged to apply for this position as the position will be supported by senior lawyers to build skills across these areas of law.

We seek a highly motivated individual with a demonstrated understanding of legal practice within a multi-disciplinary framework, including experience and a willingness to work within a community development and therapeutic framework.

LCCLC offers tax-effective salary packaging (up to $30,000 grossed-up per FBT Year), plus access to Accommodation and Meal Entertainment packaging. We also provide an additional three days ex gratia leave between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
