About the organisation
Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation Inc. (VACCHO) is the peak body for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people living in Victoria and are a centre of expertise, policy advice, training, innovation and leadership.
VACCHO’s members have a proud history as sustainable, grassroots organisations that assist in building community capacity for self-determination and who provide support and services to approximately 25,000 Aboriginal people across the state.
By advocating and championing community control and health equality for Aboriginal communities, VACCHO are continually improving their cultural footprint in ensuring that each Aboriginal community has its own community-based, locally owned, culturally appropriate and adequately resourced primary health care facility.
About the role
The Role
Reporting into the chief operation officer, your role as executive manager of human resources will be to provide high level HR expertise and leadership advice that positively contributes to the strategic direction of the organisation and its cultural values.
You will play a key role in developing and driving a people and workplace culture strategy that influences organisational change, continuous improvement, policy development and capacity building.
Leading a small team, you will also provide operational support in all matters relating to people management, employee relations and performance.
Skills Required
You are an experienced senior people leader with demonstrated knowledge and a proven track record in developing and executing human resources strategies, policies and programs.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and understanding community dynamics within a cultural sensitive setting will be key to your success in this role.
Previous experience working within sector, in particular community, health and welfare in addition to relevant tertiary qualifications are essential.
