NSW Trustee & Guardian is a division within the Department of Justice specialising in financial management, guardianship, and estate and trust administration.

NSW Trustee & Guardian are appointed by a court or tribunal to carry out quality personal trustee and financial management services to over 11,000 people with a disability that affects their capacity to make decisions. The organisation also delivers planning ahead services for people to make their Will, Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship Appointments. In our trustee role, NSW Trustee & Guardian also acts as an independent and impartial executor, administrator and/or trustee and attorney. The Public Guardian, through court or tribunal appointment, makes health and lifestyle decisions for people with a decision making disability, while also promoting the rights and interests of people with a disability.

About the role

Responsible for leading a Financial Management Service Centre Team and substantial client caseload, ensuring financial management services are high quality, timely, effective and meet the needs of our clients.

Essential Requirements

  • Understanding of NSW government and NSW Trustee & Guardian’s key services and client base
  • All roles in NSW Trustee & Guardian require a willingness to have phone calls monitored for quality and training purposes.

About you

  • Ability to manage and lead a high performing Service Centre team, providing direction, support and development to skilled Client and Senior Client Service Officers
  • Strong financial skills, with the ability to make significant financial decisions within the delegations of the Principal Client Service Officer
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the capacity to prioritise a team workload and complex client caseload
  • Highly advanced communication skills, providing ability to communicate effectively with clients and their stakeholders
  • Experience and understanding of working with people with disabilities, with the ability to ensure the delivery of high quality customer service with empathy to a diverse client base by a Service Centre team.
