Groomed to Go Inc.,currently trading as Dress for Success Mornington Peninsula, is a registered not-for-profit organisation that has, since 2008, offered a free dressing and support service for unemployed women to assist them rebuild their self-confidence, self-esteem and skills as they seek work. Operating for over 10 years from the Frankston, Mornington and South East Melbourne regions, Dress for Success Mornington Peninsula is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who passionately commit their time and enthusiasm to helping women. We have recently had the challenge of moving into new premises and are now settled. Groomed to Go Inc. has been granted funds through the Jobs Victoria Innovation Fund to extend our services to men and transgender women. We will launch a 12-month pilot throughout 2019, called the Opening New Doors Project. We are therefore looking to employ a professional Program Manager to oversee the execution of this grant.  The role is for 12-months duration at 4 days per week equivalent and there will be some after hour events and meetings.

About the role

Opening New Doors Project The Opening New Doors project is an initiative of Groomed to Go Inc to execute three unique pilot programs through 2019:

  • To provide clothes and personal development to men who need assistance, including job support workshops (in separate premises from our existing women’s service).
  • To deliver a specialised women’s service to transgender and gender re-orientation clients who are seeking support.
  • To provide a targeted service to deliver specific digital access skills aimed at women aged 45+ who have not kept up with the digital world and need basic training to reconnect with the needs of the workplace

The Opening New Doors Project is being funded by a Jobs Victoria Innovation Fund grant as a 12-month pilot. The long-term goal is to establish the viability and sustainability of these programs beyond the pilot stage. The Role Reporting directly to the President of Groomed to Go Inc., the Program Manager will have responsibility for managing and monitoring all project activities and milestones, and will undertake detailed implementation planning across the three aspects of the program. The role will involve extensive collaboration with volunteers who will execute the day-to-day activities of the program and its intersection with existing programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic development and progress delivery of the Opening New Doors project
  • Managing all project activities and milestones, and reporting in a timely manner on any issues affecting implementation as well as regular reports to the Committee of Management.
  • Accurate and complete record keeping of work activities
  • Demonstrating how the actions and outcomes of this program impact clients and the organisation’s ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
  • Managing the allocated budget by keeping accurate records of all expenditure in addition to working closely with the TreasurerYour Profile You will be an experienced Project Manager, preferably with experience within a not-for-profit environment, and comfortable working in small teams within a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent communication skills and a track record of delivering. Your experience will also include:
    • Being an experienced project manager, with the ability to deliver complex projects in a dynamic not-for-profit environment.
    • The ability to build successful relationships with stakeholders and lead by influence.
    • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Advanced computer literacy and data management skills
    • Highly organised
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
