About Foundation House
The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (also known as Foundation House) provides services to advance the health, wellbeing and human rights of people of refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin or while fleeing those countries.
The organisation was established in Melbourne in 1987 and is non-denominational, politically neutral and non-aligned. Foundation House is a state-wide agency offering services in metropolitan, regional and rural areas, with head office based in Brunswick. We have approximately 200 staff with metropolitan regional offices in Dallas, Sunshine, Dandenong and Ringwood.

The program
The Professional & Organisational Development team is highly regarded for the provision of quality professional and organisational development activities about working with refugees and asylum seekers. It comprises of an experienced team who develop and deliver tailored professional development activities to Foundation House staff and other organisations in working with people from refugee backgrounds, as well as an advertised calendar. The position
The Programs Coordinator will design and coordinate the delivery of internal and external professional development programs to meet objectives within the strategic plan that focus on both internal and external professional development. The role has a major focus on implementing the new professional learning program for Foundation House staff.
This new role is ongoing, working 4 days per week based in Brunswick, very accessible to public transport and with on-site parking.
About you
- You are experienced in the development and delivery of professional development and adult learning principles with a good understanding of Victorian health and community services
- Tertiary qualified in social work, psychology, education, community development or similar will inform your demonstrated understanding of the impact of torture and trauma on people of refugee backgrounds, including asylum seekers.
- You will have highly developed project management skills and be able to juggle multiple projects
- You will be an excellent communicator, having worked successfully with other service providers
- You are experienced in relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders
Salary and Benefits
Remuneration is based on our Enterprise Agreement 2014 up to $90,264, gross per annum pro rata. Benefits include generous salary packaging, leave loading, a range of flexible working options and a highly supportive team environment.
