About the organisation
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change. SVA’s Finance team manages the financial operations of SVA. The team consists of a Chief Financial Officer, Finance Manager and four accountants.

This ‘hands on’ position is a business partnering role and has wide-ranging scope working across a
broad range of Finance team functions

The position
Working as part of a cohesive, service-driven team, this ‘hands-on’ position requires a flexible and responsive approach to a broad range of Finance team functions. The position has wide-ranging scope from month-end and year-end accounting, analysis and reporting, to the preparation and oversight of budgets and forecasts. Working in support of SVA’s Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant provides a business partnering role to SVA’s various divisions and has exposure to supporting compliance activities and continuous business improvement with the Finance function.
Who you are
We are looking for a self-starter with a strong analytical skills and proven ability to problem-solve, manage priorities and deliver to deadlines. With a solid base of accounting experience, including financial accounting and management reporting, you will have demonstrated knowledge of good accounting policies and practices. A team player with a solid breadth of financial experience, and strong business partnering skills will be successful in this role. Previous exposure to the not-for profit sector will be an advantage.
This unique role provides exposure in wide-range finance related activity in an interesting and dynamic context. The focus of this role will see you forging rewarding relationships with a highly engaged internal client group.
