About the role

Alumni Coordinator – Graduations Speakers and Honorary Doctorates

 

  • UNSW ambassador: work with high-profile achievers and luminaries
  • Speaker identification, invitations, event coordination and stewardship
  • High level communications including report writing for sophisticated audience

Support UNSW Sydney recognition of high achievers – research and write honorary doctorate communications and coordinate VIP speakers for graduations.

 

The Opportunity

  • L6 ($85,236 – $91,023) + super + market loading, depending on experience
  • 12-month fixed team contract
  • Sydney CBD office

 

Reporting to the Corporate Secretary Vice President of Philanthropy’s Office, you will manage the graduation speaker process including identification, invitation management, coordinating associated events and stewardship.  Additionally, you will manage the processing of honorary doctorates including research and report writing.  Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Identification of appropriate speakers for all UNSW Graduation Ceremonies, the invitation process and stewardship for each speaker, in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Key point of contact for the Philanthropy Division with the Graduations team
  • Key point of contact with the Governance and Graduations teams with respect to Honorary Doctorates
  • Supporting the Philanthropy leadership team with respect to the Honorary Doctorate process, and stewardship of recipients at the time of the ceremony
  • Research and writing Honorary Doctorate nominations and citations
  • Liaising with appropriate stakeholders and contribute to relevant projects and initiatives
  • Cooperating with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university

 

About the successful candidate

You are an exceptional ambassador with excellent research and written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to engage easily with a broad range of stakeholders including VIPs. Key requirements include:

 

  • Extensive project coordination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders
  • High-level organisational skills and proven ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficient level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and databases
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple teams and areas
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative, think independently and take responsibility
