The Advancement Office, located within the Division of Business Development, works to support the funding of senior academic appointments (including professorial chairs), postdoctoral fellows, a significant scholarship program, teaching and research programs, prizes, equipment and other important initiatives.

In this influential, highly respected position of Executive Director of Advancement you’ll provide strategic leadership across each of the University’s fundraising, alumni and broader community outreach frameworks, to embed the initiatives that attract substantial philanthropic investment in the University.  Responsible for a team of 36 staff, you will be a dynamic and inspirational leader who will encourage a culture of growth and achievement.

Pivotal in major donor stewardship, your remit will include leading the identification and cultivation of potential individual givers and major organisations nationally and internationally.  You will support University leaders, staff and executive-level volunteers to develop their fundraising skills and awareness.

As a valued member of the senior management team, you work closely with members of University Council, Vice-President Business Development and influential alumni, negotiate with university lawyers, donors and their professional advisers.

With qualifications and a substantial record of achievement in an area relevant to this position, you are well known as a consummate leader and manager and are financially adept, IT-capable and possess sound business acumen.

And it is here that you have drawn on outstanding abilities to relate and communicate to deliver positive outcomes and an excellent record of effective leadership.

The appointment will be offered on a fixed-term, full-time basis for a renewable period of up to five years.
