About the role
Beyond Blue is one of Australia’s pre-eminent, independent, not-for-profit organisations working to reduce the impact of anxiety, depression and suicide. With ambitious plans for the future and a clear strategy to achieve vision and mission, Beyond Blue has entered an exciting period and is in the process of developing the next wave mental health policy reform agenda.
The Head of Policy and PHN Engagement is responsible for leading the development, implementation and ongoing review of Beyond Blue’s policy reform agenda. Supporting the Board, CEO and Executive team you will develop an efficient and effective strategy and process to deliver high-level policy and advocacy activities. Overseeing Beyond Blue’s Government Engagement Framework, you will develop strong working relationships with government funders and ensure that all contractual obligations are met and reported on. Working in close collaboration with Primary Health Networks, you will strategically engage to influence, innovate and develop, effective and integrated models of care.
The successful applicant will be an experienced and professional manager with a strong track record of leading, supporting and mentoring team members to create a high-performance team that strategically and proactively seizes opportunities and drives reform. An exceptional communicator, you will have a convincing and persuasive style, with the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences and influence decision-making process. High level policy skills are essential, including proven experience and ability to research and develop compelling policy propositions. Expertise in mental health and the primary health care system is desirable though not essential.
