Reporting directly to the Board of Directors the National Executive Director will give sound leadership to the domestic and International operations of Samaritan’s Purse Australia and New Zealand and the BGEA. The Executive Director will lead and manage the organisation towards the fulfillment of the mission, with support from the Board of Directors and International colleagues within SP and the BGEA organisations.
The Board is seeking to appoint a gifted leader to build on the solid foundation that has been put in place by their predecessor and to bring with them their own set of unique skills and talent to this exciting role. You will provide Godly leadership to the Executive team and in cooperation with the Board, management staff and International colleagues, develop a strategic plan for the ministry based on the vision for the long term, sustainable growth of the organisation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of success in a key senior management role where they have effectively built and developed highly effective teams and built sustainable growth. We are looking for an astute servant leader who is strongly aligned to the values of this Christian organisation, who has the ability to influence others, to facilitate change and build excellent relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. You will possess excellent people skills, be organised and methodical, have sound business acumen, and possess the unique ability to be able to engage with major donors and promote to a wide audience.
Your knowledge and understanding of the Christian landscape in Australia will be vitally important to this role as will be your willingness to travel both domestically and internationally. This is one of those truly unique opportunities for someone who is looking to make a real difference and wants to use their skill and talent to help the poor and disadvantaged around the world, with aim of demonstrating Gods love holistically.
About the Organisation
Our Client, Samaritan’s Purse is a nonprofit, Christian organisation providing emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world. Today they are widely known for Operation Christmas Child, a program that has seen more than 340,000 shoe boxes per year distributed from Australia.
