About the role
Our Partnership and Programs Director (PPD) works with a mobilised and skilled team to deliver our partnership and program strategy. The PPD is responsible for the Department budget, annual plans, and monitoring, evaluation and reporting against strategic objectives and donor requirements. The PPD is responsible for ensuring the Department continues to increase institutional grants to support our work. The PPD works in close collaboration with other Departments to ensure relevant policy, advocacy, public fundraising, compliance and management accountabilities are achieved. The PPD represents the Agency in external networks or joint initiatives.
The PPD reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and is a member of the Act for Peace Leadership Team, contributing to whole of Agency development.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, preferably at post-graduate level
- Demonstrated capacity to provide strategic leadership and oversee implementation of a portfolio of complex partnerships and programs initiatives supporting conflict, disaster and displacement-affected communities
- Current, in-depth knowledge of international development and humanitarian issues, trends and practices, including specific understanding of protection and resilience approaches
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic plans into operational plans; development of monitoring, learning and reporting frameworks
- Demonstrated resource mobilisation and management skills including experience in developing innovative grant income strategies and securing successful grants
- Substantial experience in leading and supporting the design and implementation of community based humanitarian and development programs and policies
- Sound track record in ensuring organisational effectiveness, quality and accountability in all aspects of program, administration and finance including compliance with Agency and donor requirements, humanitarian principles and standards
- Capacity to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, program partners, institutional donors, networks and alliances. Strong planning, change-management and coordination skills
- Capacity to lead a department in a small/medium agency; capacity to multitask and fulfil a range of tasks with limited resourcing. Demonstrated ability to foster a healthy team culture, and to manage staff and collaborative task-teams to engage in practical innovation to enhance program outcomes
- Strong IT capacity and ability to adapt to new systems
