About the organisation
The Building Designers Association of Victoria is a not-for-profit industry association focused on building design professionals. Our primary focus is to assist members with issues relevant to them under the principles and governance of the Association and direction of the Committee of Management.
About the role
We are looking for a confident full-time Policy Officer who has initiative and self-drive to be responsible for identifying policy, political and professional issues that impact the Association and its members and, in consultation with key stakeholders, preparing policy statements, submissions and lobbying government representatives to support the Association’s goals.
A critical component of this role is to keep members informed of sector issues and the advocacy work being undertaken on their behalf.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of interpretation of legislation and experience in researching, developing and communicating policy positions. Equally, you will need a high level of interpersonal, facilitation and written skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Previous experience within the building/planning/building design/architecture sector will give you a competitive edge.
