About the organisation
VCOSS is the peak body of the community sector in Victoria. It raises awareness of the existence, causes and effects of poverty and disadvantage. VCOSS is a unique membership based organisation with a rich history in social justice advocacy in Victoria.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work to support the Victorian community sector to build their capability in response to family violence. This will include helping organisations to understand and implement information sharing reforms and risk management approaches so that people, including children, can receive holistic and timely support when they are at risk of family violence.
The Project Coordinator – Family Violence will also support the Enhanced Pathways to Family Violence Project which will strengthen pathways for new workers into the specialist family violence and community services sector to build capabilities of students and graduates to be more “work- ready”. The role will require excellent stakeholder relationship, group facilitation and interpersonal skills.
This role will work closely with metropolitan and regional community services organisations, and facilitate capability development and change management processes for organisations. Hence a strong understanding of family violence is required for this role.
