The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking a successful, committed and enthusiastic leader to drive the success of our people and programs as our Regional Programs Manager, Victoria.
Reporting to the General Manager, Victoria and working with a high energy, passionate team, this pivotal frontline role leads team leaders and senior program coordinators responsible for implementation and delivery of The Smith Family’s evidence based programs nestled within our over-arching program, Learning for Life. The primary objective of this role is to ensure complete compliance with the quality and quantity of program outputs and outcomes.
A day in the life of a Regional Programs Manager is engaging, diverse and rewarding. While every day can be different, primarily you will be responsible for:
- Delivery of programs in accordance with Policy and Program Framework
- Working with the general manager, Victoria, State Operations and Policy and Programs teams to achieve outputs, outcomes and to input into high-level planning processes
- Leading a highly committed and high performing team
- Developing purposeful relationships in communities to enable opportunities for more effective delivery of programs and growth
- Ensuring implementation activities for TSF programs are delivered in accordance with Policy and Program Frameworks
- Managing reporting requirements, including programs, revenue and budget achievement
- Supporting relevant media activities and external stakeholder engagement as required
It takes a special kind of person to be our Regional Programs Manager. Our successful candidate will bring the following:
- Relevant tertiary level qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven people leadership success across geographically dispersed teams
- Demonstrated experience managing quality program implementation
- Solid experience within NFP or working with disadvantaged groups and communities
- Comprehensive understanding of program management, educational and social issues
- Ability to manage complex relationships with an high level of emotional intelligence
- Experience in financial management and reporting
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
- Capacity to establish and negotiate community partnerships
